what happened to this that looked so beautiful 5 minutes earlier!!!
hey well this is the first entry and i dont really have much to say for myself.Work is probably as dramatic as it could possibly get. And after having a whole 2 days off out of 22 work days, i guess you could say work is 'messing with my chi' But i can write about my last adventure!!
This right here was the most peaceful dead hummingbird that i found right in the middle of the trail.
Me Ross and Cayden decided to do a two nighter up mount hope with plans to hike up mount hope one day and make it up wells peak the next.Saturday night we load up and get into my car that appaently turned into a 4*4 over night,We only had to walk about an hour up the boring logging road to our first site which was nest to a small waterfall.Caydens so cute, on top of carrying his 20 lb. bag(for a 11 year old thats heavy) he surprised me and ross with a beer:)
We walked to the nexted spot in the morning which was basically at the top of the road where you branch off and start hiking.ehm, ross failed to mention that its a 75% bushwack trail.its totally overgrown and not used very often at all.well, im sure lots by bears with the amount of crap i saw.Everything was fine except getting soakin wet from the dew on everything.Than we get over the first hump and descend to where we need to get to the mount hope highest peak. This absolutley massive black cloud comes out from the middle of nowhere and within minutes we were being hailed on.It was something we had to laugh about.Once it cleared up we were like im not turning around!!!! but you could see the yucky clouds that were sitting on the top of the mountain that we needed to get through.Then...it clears up...allright.cool. Then we get up to this puddle of a lake with only about 30 more minutes of climbing with a scramble at the top and it starts snowing and raining sideways.Cayden is in jeans and a hoodie and i was in shorts.I said you know what....... my pride is not getting in the way here.im ok if we turn around.especially if there isnt anything to see at the top because its one big dense cloud. So we turned around.hehe,i had one good slip but i held onto that tree for my dear life! its all good.As we get back to the spot where it was hailing on the way up, we look up to the top of mount hope and-oh look-clear blue sky.talk about bad luck,i said to ross dont worry about it because if we decided to have wated it out up top, it just would have stayed rainy anyways.
We caught a double rainbow on the way back. Was the brightest and closest i had ever been to a rainow. i said that just made my day!!! ive been told before that im easy to please
It was a very long day anyways,.8 hours of hiking.
My knees made it!!!!!!woohoo...
with help of my dear friend ibuprophen.
I actually wasnt even that sore the next day until we had to walk downhill for a couple hours. It probably also helped that i ate really well.I read that rice and fish are both helpers to heal pulled muscles.
I stayed up and looked at the amazing stars-nothing like being in the mountains.
So we wake up in the morning with a full ten hour sleep-nice- and we look towards wells and even at 1130 it was so foggy you couldnt even see the bottom trail head.bushwacking in the fog?no thanks.
chocolate birdy surprise.
